Elitac Wearables joins the PRESENCE consortium to strengthen haptics and tactile XR experiences

We are pleased to announce that Elitac Wearables has joined the PRESENCE consortium, further strengthening the project’s capabilities in haptics, wearables, and product-oriented XR development.

PRESENCE is developing a modular toolset for hyper-realistic XR-based human–human and human–machine interactions, combining Intelligent Virtual Humans, holoportation, and haptics. With the addition of Elitac Wearables, the project reinforces its focus on tactile feedback and wearable design as key enablers of realistic, deployable XR experiences.

Elitac Wearables contributes specialised expertise in haptic technologies, wearable systems, and product development, supporting the integration of tactile feedback into PRESENCE solutions. Their experience helps bridge the gap between advanced XR research and practical, user-facing applications, ensuring that haptics are not only technically sophisticated but also usable, scalable, and aligned with real deployment constraints.

By bringing a strong product and hardware perspective into the consortium, Elitac Wearables supports PRESENCE’s adoption-driven approach. Their contribution is particularly relevant for use cases where touch, embodiment, and physical feedback play a critical role, such as training, professional collaboration, and immersive experiences that require a high degree of realism.

The inclusion of Elitac Wearables reflects PRESENCE’s ongoing shift from technology development towards validation, integration, and real-world adoption. Working closely with use case partners and end users, the consortium continues to refine its solutions with a clear focus on deployability, interoperability, and user value.

We look forward to the collaboration ahead and to the role Elitac Wearables will play in advancing tactile, multisensory XR experiences within the PRESENCE project.

PRESENCE is co-funded by the European Union under Grant Agreement No. 101135025.
