Ana Zappa is a linguist working on second language acquisition. She has just completed a Marie Curie Fellowship at the Cognition and brain plasticity lab, in collaboration with the Event lab, at the University of Barcelona. Her PhD in Language Sciences, obtained at the Aix-Marseille University, focused on embodied semantics and second language learning. Her research combines psychophisiological measures (EEG, pupillometry) with immersive, interactive VR paradigms to examine the role of physical and social interaction in second language learning.
